Something about her that you don't know: She was awarded the Irish Times/Sport Ireland 2016 Sportswoman of the Year.

Who she is: A second-generation Olympic sailor, Annalise jumps into the Volvo Ocean Race fresh from winning a silver medal at the 2016 Games in Rio. She previously finished fourth at London 2012 and won the 2013 European Championships in front of thousands of adoring fans in her hometown of Dublin. Her mother, Cathy McAleavy, competed in the 470 class at the Olympics in Seoul in 1988.
