2005-06 World Childhood Foundation

The official charity of the Volvo Ocean Race was founded in 1999 by Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden, with a mission to address the social, emotional and material poverty of children around the world. Volvo Car Corporation was one of the charity’s major partners, and pledged that for each Volvo car sold in Sweden, it would give a donation.

The Volvo Ocean Race adopted World Childhood Foundation as its charity to support its mission to help exploited children and children in need all over the world. Activation took place throughout the 2005-06 race.
