Something about him you don't know: He made it into the history books by becoming the first Brit to break the round the world record twice, and becoming the first to sail non-stop around the world four times.

Who he is: Thompson is a vastly experienced and successful offshore sailor, having won the Volvo Ocean Race once as part of Mike Sanderson’s ABN AMRO ONE crew in 2005- 06.
