Bleddyn Mon

Turn the Tide on Plastic Royaume-Uni

Date of birth: 1992

In: Bangor, Wales

Nationality: Welsh

Legs sailed in this edition: 1, 3, 4, 7, 9, 10, 11
In-Port Races: Alicante, Cape Town, Guangzhou, Auckland, Newport, Cardiff, Gothenburg, La Haye

Something about him that you don't know: Bleddyn decided that he wanted to become a pro sailor at just 10 years old when his parents would take him sailing from Anglesey.

Who he is: The only Welsh sailor in the 2017-18 edition, Mon joins the Volvo Ocean Race fresh from being part of Land Rover BAR in the 2017 America's Cup. In his teenage years, he became a World and European champion in the 29er class – and with plenty of Extreme Sailing Series experience to his name at just 25, he brings top-level racing credentials to Turn the Tide on Plastic.
