As the spectator fleet faded into the distance and the Volvo Ocean Race teams settled down to their first night at sea again, the sunset shots taken by the Onboard Reporters did not disappoint. Here one of our favourite, showing the fleet scattered across the South Atlantic
Sometimes timing is everything and we're not sure how James Blake onboard Turn the Tide on Plastic managed to take this picture when he did but wow - take a close look
As clouds moved in from the north east the weather was consistantly unstanble for the fleet overnight. Luckily we get to see it all first hand thanks to this moody cloud shot from team AkzoNobel Onboard Reporter, Brian Carlin.
If there's one thing you don't want to realise during your first night offshore it's that you've forgotten your toothbrush - this leg is going to be an uncomfortable one for Henry Bomby and everyone around him! Check out the tweet below
Had an absolute shocker. Forgot my toothbrush... Liz has offered me the one from the tool kit/winch parts. Not that desperate, yet...— Henry BOMBY. (@henrybomby) April 23, 2018
And finally, as Sun Hung Kai / Scallywag get back out on the water after retiring from Leg 7, this behind the scenes video of all the hard work the team put in and the help they had getting to the start line is incredibly moving, it's a long one but worth every second
That's it until tomorrow - for now, it's this way to Newport, Rhode Island
Don't forget, there's more fantastic content from the boats being delivered in real time to raw.volvooceanrace.com
