This is the fourth time the city of Alicante has opened its gates for the start of the Volvo Ocean Race and every year, it just gets better.

Kicking off the action in style, less than 24 hours before the seven Volvo Ocean Race teams are set to arrive, the Host City of Alicante impressed with energetic crowds, round-the-clock entertainment and a stunning fireworks display.

The Volvo Ocean Race puts Alicante on the world map next to other iconic cities like Hong Kong, Melbourne, Gothenburg and Cape Town.
