Something about him that you don't know: Federico was born in Washington DC but raised in Portugal with Portuguese parents representing Portugal in all his career. He was proud to have represented it at the Olympic Games.

Who he is: Having made his name racing on the Finn and Star Olympic circuits, Frederico steps into offshore sailing for the first time. He has previously competed in the Extreme Sailing Series onboard Sail Portugal/Visit Madeira – and has also completed a Sydney-Hobart Race with Sydney 38. He has spent his whole sailing career training at Cascais Naval Club since opting to fly the flag of his parents' homeland rather than the USA.
